Every year, over 1.5 million wildebeest, 200 thousand zebras, and other plains animals move in a herd through the Serengeti eco-system. Check out the spectacular pictures Tim and our guests captured of the great wildebeest migration this summer:
But don’t worry! There is still time to see the migration!
Their next move is an excellent reason to schedule a trip for this coming spring. (Not to mention, traveling is much more cost effective in the spring compared to the summer peak season.) From January through March, they will continue south to give birth to their calves and then spread out amongst the short grass plains of the southern Serengeti with their young ones. This area will be thriving with all wildlife, including elephants, lions, and leopards.
