Madagascar - A classic tour of the North and East

Visit the Perinet National Park, then along the Pangalanes Canal to Tamatave. Fly to the North to visit Montagne d'Ambre Park and Ankarana with its Tsingy. After that, relax and discover Nosy Be.

1st day :    Europe - Antananarivo

Met at Ivato international airport and transfer to the city. Enjoy a visit of Lemur's Park and a city tour. Night at the hotel.

2nd day :    Antananarivo - Andasibe ( 140 km )

Drive to Andasibe ( about 3 hours drive ) through a landscape composed of rice paddies, waterfalls, and scarce forest stations. In Marozevo, stop at the exotic park in order to see a variety of chameleons. Continuation to Andasibe and check-in at the hotel. Before dinner, take a night walk to see some nocturnal species of lemurs. Overnight at the hotel.

3rd day :    Andasibe - Akanin'ny Nofy ( 190 km )

After breakfast, morning visit the Perinet reserve to see the Indri-Indri lemurs, the largest species of the lemurs, brown lemurs, birds, and chameleons. Drive to Manambato ( about 4 hours drive ) then continue aboard a motor boat to Akanin' ny Nofy ( meaning "Nest of Dreams"). Overnight at the hotel.

4th day :    Akanin'ny Nofy

Full day to discover this beautiful area at the clear and calm waters of Ampitabe Lake. Visit of the private Palmarium Park, which is home to the biggest variety of lemurs in Madagascar. Overnight at the hotel.

5th day :    Akanin'ny Nofy - Tamatave ( 60 km )

After a morning relaxing on the beautiful lakeside beach, transfer by motor boat along the Pangalanes canal to Tamatave ( about 2 hours sailing ). Pick up at the port and transfer to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.

6th day :    Tamatave - Diego Suarez

Transfer to the airport for your one hour flight to Diego in the far North. Met at the airport and transfer to the hotel for overnight.

7th day :    Diego - Montagne D'Ambre ( 35 km, about 30 minutes drive )

After breakfast, a full day excursion to the National Park of Montagne d'Ambre where you can see Lemurs, Waterfalls, many rare, endemic plants. Night in bivouac tents at the reserve campsite.

8th day :    Montagne D'Ambre - Ankarana ( 110 km )

Breakfast, then off to Ankarana ( about 2 hours drive ) - a nature reserve of limestone pinnacles called Tsingy , rich in endemic fauna and flora ( lemurs, birds, plants,... ). Visit of some caves before camping for the night at the campsite.

9th day :    Ankarana

A full day to continue the visit of the nature reserve of Ankarana to see endemic plants, birds and lemurs. Night on bivouac at the reserve's campsite, surrounded by the sounds of the African night.

10th day :    Ankarana - Ankify ( 100 km )

After a morning visit of the reserve, drive to Ankify ( about 2 hours drive )- a small village along the white sand beach. Overnight at the hotel.

11th day :    Ankify - Nosy Be

After breakfast, transfer to Nosy Be aboard a motorboat then continuation by car to the hotel. Afternoon on the beach. Overnight at the hotel.

12th day :    Nosy Be

Day-cruise to the islands "Nosy Komba"- island of lemurs and "Nosy Tany Kely"- underwater reserve with beautiful corals and a big variety of fish. Back to the hotel at the end of the afternoon. Overnight at the hotel.

13th day :    Nosy Be

Relaxing on the beach. Perhaps visit the Lokobe reserve or Mt. Passot.

14th day :    Nosy Be - Antananarivo

Morning free on the beach, before transfer to the airport for your flight back to the capital. Meet and transfer to the hotel.

15th day :    Antananarivo - Europe

In the morning, excursion to Ambohimanga - a King's palace 21km north of the city. In the afternoon visit of the handcrafts market to buy some souvenirs. Then transfer to the airport for the flight back to Europe.
