Enjoy a lie in, and after breakfast drive to Wilson airport for your charter to Chyulu Hills - Ol Donyo Wuas. The name in Maasai means " The Spotted Hills", and this is the name given by them to the Chyulus, the worlds youngest volcanic hills. The lodge which sleeps only 14, offers spectacular views over largely uninhabited Africa. Rooms are on stilts, with verandahs and open fire places, and are open to the African night. Here, on 350,000 acres of Maasai land, dominated by 19,341 ft Mt. Kilimanjaro, you will take game drives, or walk out on the plains amongst the game on horseback or foot, or simply relax on your verandah in the central area's comfortable arm chairs! Visit completely unspoiled Maasai manyattas.

Wilderness Trails can sleep up to 16 people in comfortable African style. You will be looked after by William and Emma Craig or their hosts. It is also home to large numbers of the unique Northern species such as grevy zebra, reticulated giraffe, and somali ostrich, in addition to elephant, rhino, lion, and leopard. In your spare time you can relax by the pool, read in the comfort of your patio overlooking the bougainvillea filled gardens, or play tennis for the more energetic. Of interest are the prehistoric 500,000 year old Anchulean hand axe site, organic vegetable gardens from which your meals will come, the local furniture building facility, and the carpet factory. Our family has lived in the unique

Ngare Niti House on Lewa Downs for 2 months each summer where we have hosted our clients who were visiting at that time.

Their land is bordered on the East by the Uaso Njiro River which runs out through Samburu into the Lorian Swamp.

Here you will spend quite a lot of time walking, examining both the big and small things that nature has to offer. Colin has a unique relationship with the local Ndorobo people, and due to this, one is able to visit their unspoiled and unchanged manyattas with him. Here you can ride horses and camels, or just relax by the pool enjoying the incredible view over unlimited Africa.

Of course Africa beckons far beyond just the exclusive and remote type of Kenya safari we have shown you here, and here are some ideas for extending this trip - or planning your next one!!

Tanzania - Visit the world famous Ngoro Ngoro Crater and the Serengeti plains.

To get further off the beaten track, the chimpanzees at Mahale Mountains and Africa's remotest park - Katavi. Southern Tanzania offers the world's largest game area - the Selous as well as the remote Ruaha national park. These combine well with a visit to the world famous Zanzibar spice islands. For the energetic, climb 19,000ft Mount Kilimanjaro!

Uganda - This varied country offers trekking for Mountain gorillas, chimpanzees and other primates, fabulous wildlife and bird life and the Murchison Falls on the Nile.

Zimbabwe / Zambia - Visit one of the greatest natural spectacles on earth, the Victoria Falls. There are many options to enjoy this area "off the beaten track", as well as enjoying spectacular white water rafting, bungee jumping and canoeing! Other must see areas are Lake Kariba and a 3 night canoe trip on the Zambezi.

Zambia is home to some of the most remote game in Africa including walking safaris in the South Luangwa valley, and tiger fishing on the lower Zambezi.

Botswana - The world famous Okavango Delta and the adjacent Kalahari desert with its Bushmen cultures will take up a full safari in themselves!

Namibia - Flying low over the Skeleton coast and the Sossusvlei sand dunes will be the most exciting thing you will do in Africa, and would include a visit to the Himba people, one of the remotest tribes in Africa. The world famous Etosha pans are one of the worlds great game areas.

Ethiopia - You will travel into the world of the New Testament, unchanged since 400 AD, its Unique Coptic Christian churches at Lalibela, ancient Stellae at Axum and a beautiful warm and friendly people, amongst spectacular scenery. The trip was fantastic and we thoroughly enjoyed everything. Got spoiled at Kwando Lagoon since it was a private concession and anything goes! All accommodations were great; just Jack's and Kwando had some extra special touches. Jack's Camp was so unique and a great way to end the trip. None of us wanted to leave.
