This extraordinary island country never ceases to amaze its visitors. Split into two distinct islands, North and South, its unparalleled scenic beauty has recently been immortalized by the film Lord of the Rings. In a relatively small geographical area, it features widely varied scenery from volcanic geothermal hot springs, stark fjords and perennial glaciers, to gently rolling downs for sheep grazing. Last, but not least, New Zealands’ warm and friendly people will give you the welcome of a lifetime.

Getting around is not difficult, a self drive car is probably the best way to take in all there is to see, though roads are often narrow and slow going. I recommend a minimum time of seven days to sample each island. To try to visit both New Zealand and Australia in one two week trip is often requested, but is not a sensible option, due to the logistics involved.

What ever your needs – from exquisite luxury such as Huka Lodge on Lake Taupo, a friendly B& B circuit, to challenging hiking trails such as the Milford Trail in fjordland, New Zealand has it all. Whether the adventure capital of the world, Queenstown, or the gentle pace of a sheep station home stay is your preference, we can help you design your own custom trip for you, your family or friends.

Seasons, obviously, are in the reverse from the United States, summers are never hot and even the coldest windiest winter weather is not too cold. Be prepared for a journey back in time, a leisurely pace, making new lifelong friends of your hosts, and a true holiday – one never to be forgotten!

Golf

New Zealand has more golf courses per capita than any other country in the world. With top international courses like Kauri Cliffs, Paraparaumu Links Course and Bob’s Charles design course Millbrook to seemingly endless country courses. Sometimes the hazards are unique like a passing sheep or in Rotorua you may find your ball in a thermal sulphur vent or bubbling mud. Either way, golf in New Zealand is some of the best in the world. Few crowds, low green fees and heaps of courses to choose from!

Fly Fishing

New Zealand offers some of the world’s best trout fishing opportunities. Whether you are going after the crafty Rainbow or the trophy brown, you will find it here. The Taupo region is famous for its massive rainbow stocks while the South Island has a motto – where brown trout die of old age – because they are smart, big and elusive. New Zealand has a catch and release practice and offers many top quality fishing lodges to tell your fishing stories at, at the end of your day. We recommend that a guide is used when fishing in New Zealand so a local’s knowledge can be tapped into to ensure a successful day. Whether you hike up a river to quiet spot or helicopter deep into the back country, trout fishing in New Zealand is always a favorite destination for serious anglers.

Hiking

New Zealand is considered one of the hiking capitols of the world, with such famous tracks as Milford Track, The Routeburn, Queen Charlotte and Tongariro Crossing, to name but a few.

Well organized tracks like Milford Sound offer the best of both worlds – the remote wilderness hike with the luxury of a hot shower and cooked meal at the of each day. Others are more basic. Traversing the heart of New Zealand's wild fjord country, the Milford Track has long been described as "the finest walk in the world". The Milford Track Guided Walk is a 5 day / 4 night all-inclusive guided walk through the heart of Fiordland National Park to Milford Sound. The package includes all transport, accommodation, meals, snacks, backpacks and rain jackets. Accommodation is in our luxury lodges and you will be led by our expert guides

Thank you. It was a wonderful experience that I enjoyed far more than I expected to. (I know, you told me so.) All of the logistics which you arranged went off without a hitch, every driver, every plane was just where it was supposed to be, at the correct time. We had a fantastic time...
