Dear Harold, Travel thoughts for 2007! The New Year is already well upon us, and space at the more "off the beaten track" places is getting really hard to get - but call me NOW just in case! Plan now for 2008 to get what you want! Check out our great article in this weeks newspaper the Park Record - you can see how we plan safaris with a difference!

Galapagos - Family sailing - 16 June 2007 A rare opportunity for a family sailing just after school gets out! Space on the islands is getting increasingly hard to get, but due to a cancellation of a charter, 5 cabins are available for this date. Call me now to reserve one - or all of them!

Mountain Gorillas - Uganda - July Permit prices have gone up to $ 500 a day, but in spite of this, they are extremely hard to get these days. I have two permits available on July 14 and 15 with accomodation at the Gorrilla Forest Camp. It would be great to build a safari to other places around Uganda to work with these dates.

Flying safari - Kenya - August I have a unique flying safari available for a group of up to eight, starting Aug 8 taking in some of the finest lodges in Kenya - Laikipia Ol Malo, Mara Ol Seki

Chimpanzee Trekking - Mahale - Tanzania Sadly, seven chimpanzees were lost this year to human disease, so permits and contact rules are being introduced before it is all too late. Again space this year is nearly impossible to get for this unique experience, but I do have 3 nights at Mahale Mountains starting July 9, for four people. At the same time Katavi, Ruaha and other remote areas of Tanzania should be explored.

Giving back! There are so many worthy causes in need of funding, but here are three that I support, and would like to share with you: Free Wheel Chair Mission features an extraordinary invention - a wheel chair made from a plastic patio chair and mountain bike wheels - delivered for just $ 45! They estimate 100 million people need one. I cannot think of any way that $ 45 can change somebody's life so completely - can you? Forests around the world are under attack, most especially the vital African Rainforests. In Tanzania, ARC have set up women's groups to plant millions of trees, and enhance their lives at the same time.

Australia - The Outback - The south east is still suffering from drought conditions, but this is nonetheless a great time to visit the outback, which can be done in great style and comfort should you wish! Did you know that New Zealand is home to three of the top ten voted lodges in the world?! If you want to visit both countries in the one trip, please note you will need a minimum of three weeks to make it worthwhile.

Kilimanjaro - August 2007 If you have seen Al Gore's film An Inconvenient Truth you will know that the glaciers of Kilimanjaro will have gone completely by 2020. Now is the time to take this amazing hike. We are putting together Safari Experts group climb, (max 10) starting Aug 11, which can be followed by a short safari. Call us now to sign up - and start getting fit! If these dates dont work, we can tailor make a climb for you on any date of your choice. ( 6 minutes)
